QA ASSISTANT MANAGER – Export Rattan & Wood Furniture Manufacturer in Cirebon

Job Description:
To develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System to ensure all rattan & wood furniture products consistently meet buyer requirements, international standards, and company SOPs. This role is proactive – focused on prevention, not just detection.

Key Responsibilities:

1. QMS Development & Compliance
   – Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals for rattan weaving, wood processing, assembly, and finishing.
   – Lead Elements Standard implementation and maintain documentation.
   – Ensure compliance with buyer requirements.

2. Process & Prevention :
   – Conduct process audits on weaving, kiln drying, machining, assembly, sanding, finishing lines.
   – Create control plans to prevent defects in rattan cracking, wood warping, joint failure, finishing issues.
   – Analyze defect data and make adjustments.
   
3. Supplier & Raw Material QA :
   – Develop supplier quality standards for rattan, solid wood, veneer, glue, coating, hardware.
   – Audit suppliers and approve new materials.
   – Set incoming material specs: MC <12% for wood, rattan diameter/tolerance, moisture, pest-free.
   
4. Training & Culture :
   – Train production, QC, and warehouse on quality standards and SOPs.
   – Lead quality meetings and problem solving with the production team.
   
5. Customer & Audit :
   – Handle customer complaints and quality claims. Lead root cause analysis.
   – Prepare for buyer audits and 3rd party inspections.
   – Review and approve quality documentation for container shipments.

Requirements:

• Education: S1 in Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Forestry, or related field.
• Experience: Min 2-3 years in QA in furniture manufacturing. Rattan & wood experience is a strong plus.
• Knowledge: Understand wood properties, rattan characteristics, furniture structure, finishing process.
• Familiar with AQL standards, but focus is on system not inspection.
• Skills: Data analysis, report writing, SOP writing, strong English for buyer communication.
• Traits: Systematic, leadership, problem solving, able to influence production without direct authority.

Preferred:

• Experience with export to the USA/EU market.
• Knowledge of EUDR, FSC, ISTA.
• English speaking.
